Giving thanks
A few quick items
We are thankful for our federal civil servants, especially those at the Department of the Interior, who have endured so much this year and continue to serve the country.
We are thankful to our readers here, followers on LinkedIn, and those who have engaged through so many other venues, in-person and virtual, to show their love and support of the Department of the Interior.
I am very thankful to the dozens of people who have volunteered or dedicated their time and expertise to Next Interior's work, from the Exploratory Committee to the community beta testers, and all those in-between.
Intro to Interior’s Contributions follow-up
Last week we had a successful webinar introducing Interior’s Contributions, the toolkit to drill down on data about Interior’s work at the national, state, and congressional district levels. Well, except I failed to ensure the recording actually started! We went back yesterday, did the walk through again, and recorded it, so you can watch when you’re ready, and follow along with the slides!
Giving
Next Tuesday is “Giving Tuesday,” a day where organizations make a focused end-of-year call for support. For today, I’m going to borrow from an article I did for Indigenous People’s Day that highlighted Native organizations in which more people can and should invest their giving:
- Native American Fish and Wildlife Society
- NDN Collective
- Native Land Digital
- Native Americans in Philanthropy
- The Implementation Project
- Native American Rights Fund
- Native Lands Advocacy Project and Information System
- National Indian Education Association
- National Congress of American Indians
(I don’t have any connections to these organizations other than knowing some folks who work there, simply elevating.)

We hope you have a great Thanksgiving holiday however you celebrate it in giving thanks. See you next week as we continue to work for a better, stronger future for Interior and the country!
